Title: Freelance Graphic Designer (part-time consultant; approx. 20 hours/month)

About I AM ALS

I AM ALS is a patient-centric movement revolutionizing how to end disease. The nonprofit provides critical support and resources to patients, caregivers and loved ones. We empower advocates to raise awareness and lead the movement against ALS in driving the development of cures. Founded in 2019 by husband and wife team Brian Wallach and Sandra Abrevaya, I AM ALS was born out of their desire to rewrite the ALS story for Brian and the tens of thousands of other ALS patients.

The Opportunity

Overview:

I AM ALS (IAA) is currently looking for a highly skilled and creative freelance graphic designer to support our team on a part-time basis, approximately 20 hours per month.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop visually appealing digital and print materials, including slides, materials, logos, and more, maintaining a high standard of creativity and quality.
  • Collaborate with the team to bring project goals to life using creative design elements 
  • Assist in maintaining and evolving the company’s brand identity and guidelines.
  • Work closely with the communications team or project leads to understand project requirements and provide regular updates on progress.
  • Utilize industry-standard graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc) to execute design projects.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a graphic designer with a portfolio showcasing diverse design projects. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, showcasing your superpowers. 
  • Display a creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative design concepts.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, including color theory and typography.
  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate effective collaboration within the team.
  • Willingness to incorporate feedback and iterate on designs as necessary.
  • Passion for health advocacy and/or personal ALS experience is always a plus.
