The Luckiest Man: Jonathan Eig talks Lou Gehrig with John Driskell Hopkins

About Jonathan Eig
Since writing his book, Jonathan has served as the official spokesman for the Les Turner ALS Foundation in Chicago and spoken to help raise funds for the national ALS Association and many local chapters. He has spoken about ALS everywhere from Yankee Stadium to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum and has written about ALS for publications including The Wall Street Journal. He also serves on the committee that selects the annual Lou Gehrig Memorial Award.

About John Driskell Hopkins
John Driskell (Hop) Hopkins is most well known as a founding member, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter of the GRAMMY Award-winning Zac Brown Band. Find them on the Sun Goes Down tour this Summer with Kenny Chesney across the US. When Hopkins is off the road with Zac Brown Band, he is busy writing and producing in his Brighter Shade Studios in Atlanta.

In December 2021, Hopkins was diagnosed with ALS. In May 2022, John announced his diagnosis to the public and he and his wife, Jennifer, launched Hop On A Cure Foundation. Hop On A Cure is committed to supporting research to prevent, reverse, and cure ALS while raising awareness, building a compassionate community, and unleashing the healing power of hope.
