I am Kari Ollendick

a family member of someone we've lost to ALS

My father-in-law is a lifelong Orioles fan (even though we live in MN). He lost his father (my husband's grandfather) to ALS in 1997.

My father-in-law is a lifelong Orioles fan (even though we live in MN). He lost his father (my husband’s grandfather) to ALS in 1997.

In a serendipitous twist of fate, the MN Twins play the Baltimore Orioles on Lou Gehrig’s Day in Baltimore! My husband, my father-in-law and our 12-year-old son have flights and a hotel room booked but we are waiting for the Orioles to release tickets for the game.

This is also my father-in-law’s 70th bday year. What a great way for the 3 generations to remember their dad/grandpa/great-grandfather who passed from ALS watching their home baseball team play the long-time favorite team!
