I am Madelyn Goldstein

a family member of someone we've lost to ALS

North Carolina

It was hard watching him slowly lose the ability to speak and move.

My Uncle Greg was diagnosed with ALS in the summer of 2021. It was hard watching him slowly lose the ability to speak and move. He fought very hard for two years until he passed away in August, 2023. After that, I partnered with IamALS and started the ALS Advocacy Club at my school. With the help of Deb Paust we have organized meetings where we write to legislators, urging them to join the ALS cause.
