I am Martha Rosario

a family member of someone we've lost to ALS

Florida

It took our family by surprise -- we didn’t know anything about it or what to do.

My sister Elizabeth was diagnosed April 6, 2022 and this awful illness took her on August 19, 2023. It was so fast doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong and when she was finally diagnosed it was too late for her. Just like my family we know is not awareness of this monster called ALS. It took our family by surprise — we didn’t know anything about it or what to do. Sad very sad, I hope they find a cure or ways to diagnose patients earlier.
