Hummingbird Fund and I AM ALS Partner to Accelerate Therapy Approvals and Access

(November 27, 2023, Washington, D.C.) We are thrilled to announce a new collaboration between I AM ALS and The Hummingbird Fund, a milestone towards achieving our shared mission of ending ALS through revolutionary policy advocacy.

In just five years since its launch, I AM ALS has made significant strides in its mission toward treatments and cures for ALS, including procuring almost a billion dollars in new federal research funding for ALS. Still, the movement works against the clock with a laser-focused vision of the power of the community in the development of new therapies.

Funding made possible by the Hummingbird Fund will accelerate I AM ALS’s work in revolutionizing the regulatory and access landscape, allowing for a rigorous and swift road to drug development.

“We are always stronger together,” states I AM ALS CEO Andrea Goodman. “Joining forces with The Hummingbird Fund allows us to amplify our efforts and be bolder in our vision for the entire sector to work with urgency.”

Established in April 2022, The Hummingbird Fund is a renowned organization with a proven track record of serving as an accelerator for innovation in ALS research, advocacy, and overall functional support, through stable and sustainable partnerships that are family and patient-centric, and kind. I AM ALS is honored to serve as the organization’s advocacy partner and leverage an existing movement, resources, and expertise as we strengthen our federal partnerships with a focus on regulatory and access efficiencies.

I AM ALS and The Hummingbird Fund believe that partnership is crucial in addressing the real needs and gaps for people affected by ALS and we are eager for the impact we will make together. We are confident that this collaboration will not only benefit those directly affected by ALS but also inspire others to join the cause. Together, we can make a difference.
