Unexpectedly, I literally joined him in the fight after receiving the same diagnosis in 2010.
My friend since childhood, Barry Winovich, was diagnosed with ALS in 2006. He was a beloved character & terrific advocate for finding a cure. Unexpectedly, I literally joined him in the fight after receiving the same diagnosis in 2010. Together, we were able to help raise a lot of awareness for the cause, culminating in Barry and I teaming up with CVS/Pharmacy at Fenway in 2013, to present a huge check to a team of esteemed ALS researchers. We lost Barry in 2017, while I continue to find ways to raise awareness & honor my friend.
