I am Roseann Hickman

living with ALS

Ohio

After numerous doctor appointments and tests, I was told in October 2022 that I have ALS.

I live on the shores of Lake Erie with my husband Rob and our crazy chocolate lab, Kimber. We have four sons and eight grandchildren. I am a licensed real estate agent and hair stylist. I started showing symptoms of ALS in February 2022. After numerous doctor appointments and tests, I was told in October 2022 that I have ALS. I have Bulbar ALS, which means that it affects my speech, swallowing and breathing first. I have remained very active with work and the civic groups that I belong to. I have also taken on a new role, as an ALS Advocate. It has become my mission to #endALS. Nobody should have to live through this horrible disease. Together we can find a cure, or at least make ALS a livable disease.
