Chuck Smith is a retired attorney who now practices as a mediator and arbitrator. He has been active on a number of non-profit boards, and currently sits on the executive committee of the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago in addition to his role with the I AM ALS board. His honors include awards from Chicago Appleseed, the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, and the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation. Chuck’s involvement in I AM ALS began when his colleague, Brian Wallach, slipped a short presentation across the table on the day Brian told Chuck he had been diagnosed with ALS.
