I AM ALS is thrilled to share that the Senate Appropriations Committee took a major step forward to end ALS. In their approval of the FY 2026 Labor, HHS, Education Appropriations Bill, they recommended:
- A $25 MILLION increase for ACT for ALS
- Language urging ARPA-H to dedicate $30 MILLION for ALS and related neurodegenerative research
- $40 MILLION secured in the Defense Appropriations bill for the DOD CDMRP ALS Research Program
“This didn’t happen by chance: it happened because advocates raised their voices and demanded action,” said Andrea Goodman, CEO of I AM ALS. “But let’s be clear: we’re not done. To turn these committee wins into reality, we must keep up the pressure. Congress needs to know we’re watching, and I AM ALS is not backing down.”
Help keep up the pressure by contacting your legislators about these funding priorities here.
