My mom was diagnosed with ALS in March of 2023 and 66 years old. I decided to take the responsibility of being her primary caregiver so that my 3 older siblings did not have to risk their job security during this time. I was also working and going to school but it wasn’t a “career”.

My siblings and my father did help but I felt like I had most of the weight of it. It was very difficult and my husband did help me with the more physical aspects of caring for my mom, especially in the end. I did this until July 12th of 2023 (a few days after my birthday) when my mom passed.
