We’re on the cusp of new treatments but we need YOU. I AM ALS is launching Push for Progress—a bold campaign to accelerate ALS research, expand access to treatments, and secure another $1 billion in funding for ALS. And it all starts with a Week of Action: September 7–13, 2025.

We’re at a tipping point. New treatments are within reach. But thousands of people living with ALS will lose access to them unless we take action—we need you pushing for progress with us to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Why Now?

The first key milestone in Push for Progress is a unique and powerful window of opportunity that will close by this time next year. ACT for ALS, a law that transformed the landscape for people living with this disease, is up for renewal. If we don’t reauthorize the bill by September 2026, we risk losing:

  • Access to treatments for thousands of people
  • Hundreds of millions in funding dedicated for ALS
  • A research infrastructure that’s been painstakingly built up to deliver a cure

Our allies in Congress and the new Administration have shown they are ready to support ALS, but our work is far from done. The Week of Action is just the beginning of the Push for Progress Campaign: a bold fundraising drive to raise $3 million over the next three years for I AM ALS, fueling our community’s momentum. With this funding, we’ll drive the passage of key laws, ensure more people have access to treatments, and Push for Progress towards a cure through next year and beyond.

  • Movement Goal: Push, walk, run, or roll for a number of minutes or miles
  • Host a Screening: Host a movie night with the documentary about the founding of I AM ALS (toolkit here)
